About Samaritan's Feet

“Andrew is a special person because he always thinks of others before himself,” junior Davidson men's basketball player Stephen Curry says. “Whenever he can help out somebody, he puts aside his schedule and time to do whatever necessary to make a difference.”

Their Mission: Teaching a Biblical Story of Faith, Hope and Love

Samaritan's Feet was founded by Emmanuel "Manny" Ohonome, who like Andrew, is also from Nigeria and came to America to play basketball. Manny played for the University of North Dakota after his interest in basketball developed when a Good Samaritan gave him a pair of basketball shoes as a young boy in Nigeria.Through Samaritan’s Feet, Manny has founded the opportunity to continue the legacy of love and hope he received when he was given his first pair of shoes and make a difference in the lives of millions.

Samaritan's Feet is a non-profit organization dedicated to changing lives through Shoes of Hope distributions around the world. Three-hundred million people wake up each morning without a pair of shoes to protect their feet from injury and disease.

The goal of Samaritan's Feet is to provide shoes to 10 million of these individuals in the next 10 years by teaching them a Biblical story of faith, hope and love, and demonstrating those truths in touching them by washing their feet and treating them to a new pair of shoes and socks.
